Fiat Panda Monster Truck to star in new Fiat TV commercial (video)

Fiat has turned the Fiat Panda 4×4 in to a monster SUV with 60 inch wheels to star in a new Fiat TV commercial arriving in 2013.

We’re used to seeing big American SUVs get monster tyres to turn them in to car-crushing monster SUVs. But turning the comparative;y diminutive Fiat Panda 4×4 in to a monster truck is something altogether different.

But that’s exactly what Fiat has done to the Panda in order to create a centrepiece for a new European TV campaign, running across Europe in 2013, using the slogan ‘New Panda, extremely Panda.’

Fiat has raided its Chrysler parts bin to fit the Panda 4×4 with a Jeep CJ7 4200 floor panel and added road tractor wheels with high speed tyres that sit 60″ high and 20″ wide. That turns the Panda 4×4 (with a little help from Jeep) in to a Bigfoot Panda standing almost 13 feet high.

Fiat are using the Bigfoot Panda in the new TV commercial where a group of friends set off for a weekend in the mountains in a Panda 4×4 that morphs in to the Bigfoot Panda and stuns all with its abilities. At the end the driver leaps out of the Bigfoot – believing he’s still in a regular Panda 4×4 – and falls from a height in to a cushion of snow. Hilarity ensues.

Oh, those witty Italians.
