Fisker Karma Hybrid will do 80mpg – official

The Fisker Karma Plug-In Hybrid will do 80mpg

But now we have some official figures from Fisker courtesy of SAE. The new Fisker Karma will – in normal motoring – average out at a shade over 80mpg. Which considering it will get to 60mph in under 6 seconds and produces a total of 400bhp is quite remarkable. But a big selling point will be its ultra-low emissions. Fisker say that the Karma is rated at just 83g/km CO2. Which is less than just about anything on the road. Not only that, but that’s an average CO2 emissions figure based on normal use with both the petrol engine and the electric motor.

The Karma is capable of running in ‘Stealth’ mode for up to 50 miles from a charge, and on that basis it becomes emission-free (at the point of use). But this isn’t some stripped-out eco-box, but a refined and competent mid-range executive car.

Fisker are due to launch the Karma next week at Frankfurt. I’m sure we’ll have a lot more information then.
