Ford F-150 SVT Raptor gets turned into 'The Beast'

Mon, 24 Feb 2014

Looks like we've got ourselves a good ol' fashioned truck horsepower war brewing. Hot on the heels of the debut of the Chevrolet Silverado-based Reaper by Lingelfelter and the Callaway-tuned Chevrolet Silverado, German tuner Geiger has brought out their version of the Ford F-150 SVT Raptor dubbed "The Beast." Apparently, the company felt that the standard Raptor just didn't produce enough power, but their take on the already mental truck is slightly different from Hennessey's approach.

Geiger has added a 2.9-liter supercharger to the 6.2-liter V8, bringing the horsepower output up from 411-hp to 572-hp. Torque has grown accordingly, now measuring an impressive 525 lb-ft. over stock 434 lb-ft output. Geiger has also tweaked the suspension, raising it by 8.6 inches, and has added 22-inch wheels of their own design to the truck. The wheels continue with the Poison Green over matte black exterior design scheme (which looks awfully like that of Monster energy drink), and wears Toyo Open Country tires. To top it all off, the company has (wisely) fitted a roll cage, dual power seats, extra lighting, and the MyFord Touch infotainment system. Though we have a feeling that most of the infotainment is going to come from doing doughnuts in a deserted rock quarry.

The truck has been slightly lifted, and has received new wheels of Geiger's own design.

This exercise may not have resulted in the most powerful version of the Ford Raptor -- that would be Hennessey's 800-hp version of the truck -- but it has resulted in the most visually loud version. In terms of price, however, it's dearer than the Shelby version at 99,500 Euros, or approximately $136,330 including the cost of the truck. That comes out to around $92,000 on top of the price of the truck for all the upgrades, an amount for which one can probably purchase two more stock Raptors.

That's slightly depressing math, but perhaps Geiger is going for exclusivity rather than a plan to sell a lot of these. And Raptors are a lot more expensive in Europe. We think we'd take the Shelby version if we had to buy a tuned Raptor.
