This month the grounds at Goodwood will once again play host to what has become the world’s largest historic motor racing festival. The Goodwood Revival will take place on 19-21 September - exactly ten years since it was first held, and sixty years since the legendary Goodwood circuit was opened.

The event is an effort to relive the post-WW2 spirit of motor racing as it was between 1948 and 1966. It features a large collection of cars and motorcycles that made an impact during that period. Notable appearances in the line-up include a 1948 Maserati 4CLT, a 1953 Ferrari 250 GTO and a 1965 Ford GT40, along with many others that featured in historic Goodwood races like the Nine Hours, the TT and Easter Monday F1.

In addition to the cars there will be many famous faces at the event. Sir Stirling Moss – now a regular to the festival – will be driving a Jaguar MkVII, ex-F1 driver and ITV commentator Martin Brundle will be seen in a Jaguar E-type, and Christian Horner (team principle of the Red Bull F1 team) will get behind the wheel of a Ferrari 250 GT. There will also be a ‘Goodwood Legends’ show, which will feature Sir Jack Brabham, Sir Jackie Stewart, Sir John Whitmore and many others.

But the Goodwood Revival is as keen to remember those who have passed away as it is to celebrate those still living, so it will include tributes to drivers such as Tony Brooks, Graham Hill, Jim Clarke, and the recently deceased Phil Hill.
