Honda Jazz Si Limited Edition launched in the UK

Mon, 02 Jul 2012

Honda has revealed a limited edition Jazz for the UK – the Jazz Si – with sporty looks as standard.

It’s a bit of a cliché, but Honda’s customer demographic, certainly in the UK, is generally past the first flush of youth.

So we’re not sure if a limited edition ‘sporty’ Jazz – the Honda Jazz Si – is aimed at trendy wrinklies or whether Honda are hoping to appeal to their grandchildren, but whatever it is the UK gets a sporty limited edition Jazz offering in showrooms next month.

The Jazz Si is based on the 1.4 ES (unlike the last Honda Jazz Si which also got the 1.2 lump) with a bit of a body kit thrown in – new bumpers, side skirts; the usual – and a set of ‘look at me’ 16″ alloys.

Inside the Jazz Si the sporty titivation continues with a leather-trimmed steering wheel and black and silver seats and Honda has chucked in Cruise for those moments you don’t feel sporty.

There are tweaks to the suspension with new dampers and a bigger front anti-roll bar to make the Jazz Si a little more dynamic and tweaks to the steering to achieve the same end. But with just 98bhp on offer and a 0-62mph of 12.5 seconds we’re not too sure you’re going to feel the benefit.

Honda has divvied up colours they say highlight the Jazz Si’s ‘youthful’ look - Milano Red, Crystal Black, White Orchid and Azure Blue – and you can also spend a bit more by opting for the Jazz Si-T that throws in SatNav and Bluetooth.

The Honda Jazz Si goes on sale in August at £14,550 for the regular Si and £15,454 for the Si-T.
