Now we have the new Mercedes S-Class in the wild, the next step is the arrival of its various siblings, including the ultra luxury Pullman version. the convertible S-Class and this, the new Mercedes S-Class Coupe. Designed to replace the current Mercedes CL, the new S-Class Coupe will put a bit bit more distance between the rather staid S-Class saloon and its coupe version this time round, with Mercedes hoping the new Coupe will take the fight properly to cars like the Bentley Continental GT.

So you can expect more dramatic styling than the current CL and an interior that differentiates the Coupe from the saloon.

What you will probably get is the same engine options as the saloon in the new S-Class Coupe, although its quite likely Mercedes will follow the form of the current CL and only offer the more powerful versions – S-Class Coupe 500, 63AMG and 65 AMG (will they be badged SC500 or S500 Coupe?).

Mercedes are billing the reveal of the S-Class Coupe at Frankfurt as a concept, but it will be very close to the production version which is expected to debut at the Detroit Auto Show in January 2014 before going on sale in spring 2014.
