Mitsubishi L200 gets 5 year / 125k mile warranty

Mon, 01 Oct 2012

The Mitsubishi L200 pick-up – a cross between a truck and a car – now comes with a 5 year, 125,000 mile warranty.

We don’t usually do commercial vehicle news on Cars UK, but the Mistubishi L200 isn’t just a commercial pick-up, it also does a passable job as a family runaround.

When we reviewed the L200 in Barbarian spec a couple of years ago we had a lot of fun. We managed to play Bob the Builder and shift stuff we wouldn’t normally do with a loan car, but it scrubbed up well enough to pile five in for a a decent pub lunch.

The L200 isn’t a great drive by car standards, but it is a great drive by pick-up standards and there aren’t many commercial vehicles you could get away with using to pile the kids in for the school run as well as shifting a ton of sand.

So the Mitsubishi L200 is an appealing vehicle, and it just got more appealing with the news that Mitsubishi has now bolted on a 5 year, 125,000 mile warranty to all the variants of the L200 – single cab, double cab, Club 4Work and the range-topping Barbarian and Walkinshaw models too – so whatever L200 model you opt for you will at least know it will only cost you fuel, insurance and servicing for the next five years.

Mitsubishi’s UK boss, Lance Bradley, said:

Warranty cover for five years or 125,000 miles gives buyers of the Mitsubishi L200 peace of mind for longer than any other pick-up in the UK. The Mitsubishi L200 won WhatVan? ‘Pick-up of Year’ 15 times in 18 years and is renowned as a tough and reliable truck, which is why we have the confidence to put our money where our mouth is. What’s more, the whole L200 range will be covered.

The Mitsubishi L200 costs from £14,959 for the Single Cab 2.5 DI-D 4Work to £29,558 for the L200 Double Cab 2.5 DI-D Walkinshaw Auto (all prices plus VAT).
