Morgan Aero Super Sports at Villa d’Este

Fri, 24 Apr 2009

The Morgan Aero Super Sports will be revealed this weekend at Villa d'Este

As we’ve already said, this years event will feature, amongst may other glorious cars, the new Bugatti Veyron L’Edition Centenaire and the Aston Martin One-77. You can now add to the list the very latest Morgan – the Morgan Aero Super Sports.

This is Morgan’s 100th anniversary (and they will also feature at the Goodwood Festival of Speed this year), and to celebrate Morgan has revealed their new Aero Super Sports. The aluminium chassis roadster will feature a BMW 4.8 litre V8, with either a six-speed manual ‘box or a six-speed auto. The Aero Super Sports comes with a two-piece removable hardtop (which will stow in the boot) giving owners the choice of a real roadster or a coupe.

The interior, as you would expect, is full of old-world charm and craftsmanship, with hand stitched leather and wood abounding. Actually, it’s quite a bit more luxurious and well-appointed than most Morgans, so you will feel like you’re getting your money’s worth with the car.

Not expected to reach showrooms until next year, the Morgan Aero Super Sports will cost ‘around’ £127,000 OTR in the UK, and Morgan will very kindly reserve you one if you want to stump up £25k now.

Morgans are a real Marmite car. You love them or hate the. As long as I didn’t have to drive it everyday, I defineitely fall in to the ‘Love ‘em’ category
