New (2014) Bentley Flying Spur teased (video)

Mon, 04 Feb 2013

Bentley has started the tease for the new Flying Spur which looks like it will debut at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show in March.

We’ve had spy video of the new Bentley Continental Flying Spur out testing and looking,  certainly at first glance, just like a Mercedes S Class. But that’s just Bentley’s take on the usual swirly camouflage.

Now it looks like we’re about to find out exactly what Bentley has done to the Flying Spur for 2014 with the tease starting ahead of a reveal at next month’s Geneva Motor Show.

From what we can see in the video (below) and teaser sketch (above), Bentley are going a similar route to the one they went with the new Continental GT, with an evolution in style rather than a revolution, more sculpted lines, a modified nose and even higher quality interior.

But, unless our eyes are deceiving us, it does look as though the new Flying Spur is getting a better looking back end. The current Flying Spur has a back end that looks like the designers ran out of inspiration as they flowed through the car, tailing off in to a bit of a bulbous let-down. The new Flying Spur looks to have something more interesting.

As well as the facelift for the Flying Spur we will no doubt see a more driver-focused version with the new V8 engine from Bentley, as well as the W12 and a Flying Spur Speed, and new 8-speed gearbox.

Bentley are promising to take the wraps off the 2014 Flying Spur on 20th February. More then, if not before.
