New Audi Q3 2.0 TDI quattro entry-level 4WD Q3

Thu, 19 Jul 2012

Audi has added a new entry-level quattro model to the Q3 range – the Q3 2.0 TDI quattro 140PS – expecetd to account for 40 per cent of Q3 sales.

So you’ve been put of buying an Audi Q3 because you couldn’t have 4wd quattro on a 140PS 2.0 litre TDI? No problem, as Audi has now fixed that thorny little issue with the release of the Audi Q3 2.0 TDI quattro 140PS, fitting Audi’s lower powered diesel to offer a more frugal Q3.

The 2.0 litre TDI Q3 quattro is the 250th Audi to come with quattro 4WD and Audi expect it to account for up top 40 per cent of UK Q3 sales. Whether they expect that means a whole pile of new customers for the Q3 or whether buyers already heading in to a Q3 will simply trade down from the 177PS version or up from the FWD, we’re not entirely sure.

The Q3 TDi quattro comes in either SE or S-line spec, with the SE getting 17″ alloys, Climate, rear parking sensors, Concert sound with a 6.5″ colour display and Bluetooth at £26,510. Stump up the asking price for the S-line – £29,260 – and you’ll get 18″ alloys, cosmetic tweaks, xenons with LED running lights and LED tail lights.

Economy (and therefore emissions) improve on the 140PS Q3, with the 2.0 TDI quattro managing 49.6mpg (177PS 47.9mpg), and it takes 9.9 seconds to get to 62mph compared to the 177PS 8.2 seconds.

The Audi Q3 2.0 TDI quattro 140PS is now available to order.
