New Kia Carens teasedWed, 25 Jul 2012
A new Kia Carens is being teased with a couple of design sketches ahead of a reveal at the Paris Motor Show. On sale Spring 2013.
Kia like to call their Carens MPV ‘Stylish and Practical’.
With the best will in the world you couldn’t call the current Carens stylish, but that looks set to change with an all new Kia Carens arriving in Spring 2013.
Kia has kicked off the PR drip feed for the new Carens with a couple of sketches showing a much more dynamic looking Carens than the current boxy offering. In fact, it looks rather like the Cee’d to us.
Kia say the new Carens is a completely fresh design with a lower roofline, longer wheelbase and bigger wheels with a chrome beltline accent. Kia call it ‘Dynamic Space’. We call it a big improvement on the current Carens.
There’s no official word yet on what we’re likely to find under the bonnet of the new Carens, but you won’t go far wrong if you think in terms of what’s under the bonnet of the new cee’d. That means 1.4 and 1.6 litre diesels, although the petrol may be just the 1.6 litre instead of the cee’d's 1.4 litre too.
More details on the new Kia Carens at Paris in September – if not before.
