The more upmarket interior of the 23014 Mercedes C-Class

We had the first video tease for the 2014 Mercedes C-Class over the weekend, which didn’t show us very much at all. But now we get the first official photos of the interior of the new C-Class, months before its due to debut at the Detroit Auto Show in January.

With a need to put clean air between the new C-Class and the A-Class and its CLA derivative, Mercedes are planning to make the interioor of the enw C-Class more upmarket than previously, although it would seem there’s more than a passing family resemblance to the new CLA in the new C-Class’s cabin.

There’s a familiar-looking set of circular air vents across the C-Class’s cabin, new instruments and a newly designed centre console that looks much more contemporary and the cabin does look to be a notch or two up in quality (although there’s no substiture for real life touch, see and smell to judge).

The centre console arrives at the dash and is topped-off by an infotainment screen – which apparently comes in two sizes,7″ or 8.4″ depending on the depth of your pockets – and can be controlled by a remote touchpad housed in the centre console.

Yes, it is derivative of much that Mercedes offer in other recent models, but it does look to push the C-Class more upmarket – and that’s the plan.
