The new Range Rover may have started its trophy cabinet with an award for the best 4×4 from the Sunday Times – even though they’d never driven it – but the Car of the Year Award from Car Dealer Magazine is a much more credible one. It’s more credible because it’s voted on by car dealers across the UK – from a wide range of franchises – and gives credibility not just to the new Range Rover but to Land Rover’s support of dealers too.

Car Dealer Magazine say the new Range Rover was the clear winner by a mile, with dealers commenting the latest version of the Range Rover is a gargantuan step on from the old model – which itself was already very good – and that it ‘Cannot fail to impress’.

Land Rover are suitably pleased with the award for the new Range Rover, especially as it was voted for not just by Land Rover Dealers, but by dealers representing a wide range of car makers.

Jaguar Land Rover’s MD, Jeremy Hicks, said:

This award is particularly valuable as it paints a positive picture of how dealers view our current products and the way in which Land Rover interacts with the dealer network. In addition to gain the admiration of other brands and franchises is a really strong indicator of our progress.

The new Range Rover is available from £71,310 for the 3.0 TDV6 Vogue up to £98,430 for the 5.0 V8 Autobiography. It’s a lot of money, but the new Range Rover is almost a bargain compared to anything you might reasonably consider an alternative.
