Nissan Juke-R - £438k of funky urban crossover

The rather bonkers Nissan Juke R will be available worldwide – in very limited numbers – at a very limiting price – £438,000.

The Nissan Juke -R has kept us in stories since lat year when Nissan first revealed the funky compact crossover with the heart of a GT-R.

From being merely  a one-off (well, it was actually a two-off) project to show just what Nissan could make the little Juke do, it’s grown in to a proper little PR machine for Nissan.

So it was no big surprise when Nissan revealed last week that the Juke-R was going in top production. ‘Production’ is probably a bit of an over-statement; what Nissan are prepared to do is build anyone with deep enough pockets their very own Nissan Juke-R.

That very limited, built to order run would necessitate a premium price, we were certain, so we punted a guess at £125k. It seemed reasonable guesstimate – about six times the price of the most expensive Juke and £50k more than a GT-R – but we were out by a country mile.

It now appears that Nissan will build you a Juke-R – wherever you are in the world – for $590,000 USD plus tax. That would mean the Juke-R costing £438,000 in the UK (with VAT). Which does seem a rather steep lump of wedge.

Even buying a Juke and a GT-R and paying someone to supervise their mating ritual wouldn’t come to half that.
