The 2011 Noble M600

The Noble M600 has been coming for quite some time. In fact, as long ago as August 2009 we reported the arrival of the M600 with a very similar headline – ‘Nobel M600 Arrives‘. But now it really has.

It seems the photos we had before of the M600 were not quite a production-ready version. But they were still enough to persuade more than fifty buyers to stump up a sizeable deposit on a car that will be far from cheap – over £200k.

But really, despite the M600 being a very big leap upmarket from any Noble that’s gone before, it’s a veritable bargain. With its carbon fibre body and 4.0 litre turbocharged V8 delivering up to 650bhp, the M600 can do 0-60mph in under 3 seconds and 225mph.

They are Veyron-challenging performance figures and quicker – certainly to 60mph – than the Pagani Huayra. True, it’s perhaps difficult to put the Noble in the same ‘Pigeonhole of Perception’ as the Pagani and Veyron, but at not much more than 20% of their price it’s hard to see the M600 as anything other than a hypercar bargain.

But the M600 could well be the car that rockets Noble in to the realms of the elite supercar makers. The photos show an upmarket interior that looks more from the mainstream school of car interiors than a garden shed.

Perhaps it’s Lamborghini that should be the car we look to as providing the biggest competition to the M600, with its soon to be revealed Aventador LP700-4 at a price much closer to the M600 than any products from the hypercar stratosphere.

Still, to be comparing a Noble’s performance to a Bugatti and a Pagani, and considering it competition to the LP700-4, makes the M600 a huge leap for Noble.

Oh, and if you want to get a look at the M600 in the flesh, Peter Smith Sportscars are displaying the car at their showroom at Hatton, Derbyshire from Thursday 10th to Sunday 13th February.
