One lap of the Web: A drive with Magnus and drifting an Jag XJ220

Thu, 29 Aug 2013

Unkempt Porsche trend-maker Magnus Walker's brand of customized 911 has the world buzzing. If the magazine covers and documentaries aren't enough, consider that one of his builds just sold for $302,000 at Gooding's Monterey Sale -- against a high estimate of $150,000. Pretty steep for a customized 911. Anyway, our friends at Motoring Con Brio -- home to these awesome photo posts -- have this excellent video staring Mr. Dreadlocks himself.

If Walker's brand of hoonage isn't enough for you, check out this video of the modern-classic Jaguar XJ220 getting sideways in the grass over at World Car Fans.

Craving something Italian? Let Petrolicious take you on a tour of this year's Concourso Italiano in Monterey.

Finally, this infographic. Our friends over at Jalopnik called it "surprisingly accurate," but we're guessing they're just being nice. While it purports to explain the many similarities between a restomod Mustang and a "hipster," it's actually just a picture of a Mustang and picture of some kid with a bunch of totally unrelated details called out. Rule for marketers: If you know about it, it's not cool or edgy anymore.
