Fri, 06 Jun 2014

FRENCH car maker Citroen has confirmed that nine-time World Rally Champion Sebastien Loeb will attend the 2014 Goodwood Festival of Speed, making a comeback behind the wheel of his DS 3 WRC rally car.

Loeb will be putting in appearances on the famous Goodwood Hillclimb, as well as the popular Forest Rally Stage on Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 June.

Commenting on the news, Lord March said: "It's very exciting for all of us at Goodwood to be welcoming Sebastien Loeb back to the Festival of Speed. More than anyone, he epitomises our theme for the 2014 Festival of Speed -Addicted to Winning - The Unbeatable Champions of Motor Sport."

Loeb and Citroen forged a winning combination early in the Frenchman's career. He claimed his first championship title in 2004 in the Citroen Xsara WRC, has 78 rally victories to his name, and in 10 seasons at the top of the sport clinched a record nine drivers' titles with the French marque.

The Goodwood Festival of Speed is one of the biggest motoring events in the UK and a highlight on the global automotive calendar. Last year's event reached a record-breaking attendance of 196,000 spectators.
