The Range Rover Evoque Convertible spied out and about in London

Just days after the Range Rover Evoque Convertible was revealed, we have a spy photo of the Evoque drop-top on a London street.

We’re really not sure what to make of the Range Rover Evoque Convertible. Is it a marketing masterstroke or a shot in the foot by Land Rover?

So far, the balance of opinion on the comments left on the Range Rover Evoque Cabriolet reveal story seem to fall in the ‘No’ camp, but several commenters have said they see the Evoque Cab as a potential big seller for Land Rover. And they could be right, even if buyers of the Evoque Cabrio won’t exactly be traditional Land Rover buyers. But we guess that’s the point.

Land Rover say they have no confirmed plans to turn the Evoque Cabriolet in to a production model (really? No plans, or just no specific time-scale, we wonder?), but we at least know the Range Rover Evoque Cabriolet is a proper running concept after Twitter user @Simon_Truscott took the shot you see above.

It’s clear from the plate on the back that the RR Evoque Cabrio was on some sort of promo shoot – perhaps a VT to accompany the inevitable release of more photos after the Geneva debut – but the fact Land Rover seem to have fully working models – presumably with the roll-over protectors in place – makes the Evoque Cabrio an almost certain production prospect.

But we still don’t know what to make of the Range Rover Evoque.
