SEAT Leon X-Perience price & spec – costs from £24,385

Fri, 22 Aug 2014

The ‘Allroad’ SEAt Leon X-Perience goes on sale.

SEAT hasn’t got round to building its first SUV, but the new SEAT Leon X-Perience is a half-way step – for SEAT and its customers – with added butchness and off-road pretensions in a high-riding estate car. SEAT has gone the usual ‘Allroad’ route for the X-Perience by fitting new bumpers, adding skid plates, extra plastic cladding and pumping up the ride height to give an estate that actually looks quite alright and, with 4WD and diff locks, can actually walk some of the walk.

The Leon X-Perience (which if you remove the rufty-tuft stuff is a Leon ST under the skin) comes in two trim levels – SE and SE Technology – which both offer more than the ST’s spec and a  choice of 2.0 litre TDI with 148bhp (150 PS) or 181bhp (184 PS).

The X-Perience SE comes with 17″ alloys, black roof rails, privacy glass, rear parking sensors and twin exhaust tail pipes, with interior goodies including Climate leather steering wheel, cloth sports seats with leather bolsters, hill hold and a chrome loading sill.

Move up to the SE Technology adds SEAT Media System Plus, DAB, SatNav, auto lights and wipers, LED lights front and back, 18″ alloys, electric folding door mirrors and Alcantara upholstery.

SEAT say that lot would cost you £3,500 if you specced them, but the SE Technology costs just £1,985 more. A veritable bargain.

But if the SE Technology still doesn’t offer enough kit, you can splash out an extra £1250 for the Lux Pack which adds Leather, heated seats, headlight washers, heated washer, chrome roof rails and an electric drivers seat.

The SEAT Leon X-Perience SE 2.0 TDI manual costs £24,385, the SE Technology £26,370 and the range topping X-Perience 2.0 TDI 184 DSG tops out at £28,870.

The SEAT Len X-Perience goes on sale on 1 September with first cars expected in SEAT’s UK showrooms in December.
