SEAT Ibiza SE Copa - more kit for no more money

Yet again, we’re back to the oldest sales pitch in the book – something for nothing. But it’s the oldest trick in the book because it works. Which is why, at a quiet-ish time in the car sale cycle, SEAT are adding value to both the Ibiza and Leon by throwing extra kit in to the pot, for no extra money.

The headline is a new trim level, Copa, which gets added on top of the old SE spec (and S Spec on the Leon) and brings a raft of extra goodies but at the same price as the old SE trim. Which we like.

The SEAT Ibiza SE Copa can be grabbed as the 3-door SC, 5-door or estate and with either the 1.4 16V petrol lump or the 1.2 TDI oil-burner. And the extras bolted on are half-decent.

There’s a set of 16″ alloys (at least on the petrol), Climate, auto lights and wipers, privacy glass, and ‘Copa’ trim. Which are the bits on a car that make things comfy and easy and often aren’t on the standard spec when a car kicks in at just £11,995.

The SEAT Leon SE Copa gets a similar treatment except there’s a SEAT Leon S Copa as well as a a SEAT Leon SE Copa. The S Copa adds in Climate, Bluetooth, Cruise and Copa trim and the SE Copa gets SEAT Media, Parking Sensors, auto lights and wipers and more of that Copa trim.

It’s all a sales pitch, but it’s a decent one.

Unless you’ve just taken delivery of a new Ibiza or Leon, that is.
