Skoda VisionD Concept revisited

Skoda VisionD - new pictures released

For reasons best know to Skoda, they have released a new set of pictures the VisionD Concept from the Geneva Motor Show 2011.

The Skoda VisionD Concept arrived at the Geneva Motor Show this year and was said to signal the future design language of Skoda. It was a smoother, less angular look without the current statement face of Skoda. But since VisionD arrived at Geneva we’ve not really had anything new. Until now.

For reasons best known to Skoda they’ve suddenly released a new set of images of the VisionD Concept, looking much more real than the initial photos we had. That could be because they’re predominantly set in street scenes, or perhaps because Skoda made the sensible decision to rope in a beautiful model to give the VisionD perspective.

Whatever the reason for the once de rigueur ‘beautiful model with a car’ shots, they work. The VisionD looks much more cohesive than it did at Geneva under the show lighting. As far as we can see nothing has changed, so it’s just a case of better shots, better lighting and a model.

As far ‘why now’, we really don’t know. Skoda had said that the VisionD pointed the way to a new compact fastback, but we’d assumed that was going to be the MissionL we saw at Frankfurt. But maybe the MissionL is the saloon version of a new compact car and VisionD is the swoopy hatch?

Still, we don’t object to new photos of the VisionD with pretty lady.
