Tokyo Motor Show: Jaguar F-Type CoupeWed, 20 Nov 2013
HOT On the heels of the critically acclaimed F-Type Roadster, Jaguar has unveiled the hardtop version: the F-Type Coupe.
Wowing audiences at both Los Angeles and Tokyo motor shows, the tin-top version of the British luxury car builder’s new model is expected to hit UK showrooms next March.
The car, styled by long standing Jaguar design boss Ian Callum, gains the same V6 petrol motor as the Roadster, however there’s a tweaked V8 for the flagship F-Type R boasting a considerable 542bhp.
As with the Roadster, all coupes share the firm’s now familiar eight-speed auto gearbox, although the R-spec car gains a number of trick electronic packages to better manage its extra power.
Being a coupe also means more boot space than the drop-top F-Type, and Jaguar engineers are promising an even more engaging drive thanks to the coupe body’s added stiffness.
Start saving now, as the base Coupe will be priced from £51,235 while the range-topping R model will run to £85,000.
