Top Gear Tonight - Jeff Goldblum and British Sports Cars

Looks like this will be the last of the ‘What’s on Top Gear Tonight’ pieces to keep you on the ball on a Sunday to at least remember to set the Sky+ (too late for the little green button now). We were convinced there was another in series 15 after this week. Must have been that lost weekend we had.

Tonight Jeremy gets to play with Ferrari’s latest (well, almost) car – the Ferrari 458 Italia. It’s probably a fair bet Jeremy will have a little winge about all the electronics on the 458 but we’re equally sure he will come out firmly on the side of the new mid-engined Ferrari. But is it really better than what went before?

The three-hander tonight is all about British Sports cars. The boys get £5,0o0 to go out and buy a ‘Best of British’ roadster and then undertake a road trip across Britain to take in some stunning scenery en route. And no doubt some silliness too.

Star in a Reasonably Priced Car tonight is Jeff Goldblum. Most weeks that would be a big name, but seems almost a let down after Cameron Diaz and Tom Cruise. We’d expected at least Michael Jackson revived to top last week.

Sounds a decent episode, but a shame they couldn’t have shuffled the episodes to make last week’s the last of the series. Out on a high is always best, and an episode like last week’s would have stopped the always inevitable ‘Is Top Gear Finished’ cobblers we get at the end of every series.

Oh, and due to skinny men and women running around for a living, Top Gear is on BBC2 at 9.30 tonight, not the usual 8pm.
