The 2014 Toyota Auris (pictured) gets a bit of a makeover

Toyota has decided it’s time to make a few tweaks to the Auris – nearly 2 years on from its debut –  so both the Hatch and Estate are getting changes, the hybrid version gets more trim options and there’s a new trim level – Auris Icon Plus. The Auris Icon Plus comes with a new set of 16″ alloys, privacy glass, folding electric door mirrors and the option of a new Tungsten Blue Metallic.

Inside, the Icon Plus gets heated front sports seats, the new Toyota Touch 2 with SatNav and cruise control (but only on the petrol and hybrid versions.

The hybrid options also widen – probably because they”re getting ever-more popular – so you can now get both the Auris Hybrid Hatch and Hybrid Touring in the new Icon Plus trim as well as Icon and Excel.

The new Toyota Touch 2 touch screen Infotainment centre now comes as standard on the Icon trim, and the Touch 2 Go – which gets more connectivity and SatNav, comes in the price on both the Icon Plus and the Excel.

Options and accessories are also tweaked, with a Panoramic roof on offer for the Icon and icon Plus and leather is an option on all but the active trim level.

Packs available include the Parking Pack for the Icon and Icon Plus which offers both front and rear parking sensors and the Protection Pack adds mud flaps, scuff plate, boot liner and bumper protection for all but the Active trim. A Chrome Pack is also available and does what it says on the tin.

Price start at £14,495 for the Auris Active 1.33 VVT-I with manual gearbox and rise to £23,990 for the Auris Excel Touring Sports Hybrid.

Nothing really major in the Toyota Auris updates, but enough to make the very good Auris a bit more appealing.

Available to order now, the new Toyota Auris will start customer deliveries in June.
