Toyota Prius - less polluting than a farting sheep

Regular readers know our point of view on the whole man-made global warming theory. Tosh. Utter tosh.

But there’s a big industry grown up around the ‘Need’ to cut ‘Harmful’ carbon dioxide and other so called greenhouse gasses from the planet, and in the motoring world that charge towards a lower-carbon planet (don’t people see the nonsense in statements like these?) has been beautifully exploited by Toyota to sell their hybrids.

We have been known to note that Toyota can be a bit anal and sometimes touchy about their hybrid quest, but we’re delighted to see that they haven’t lost their sense of humour in the process. Toyota in Israel has commissioned the advert you see above (click image for a full-size version).

The claim is that the Toyota Prius emits less ‘harmful’ greenhouse gas in to the atmosphere than a farting sheep. Which sounds like an advert more suited to Australia or New Zealand (or Wales) than Israel, but we love the concept and are the first to admit that they’re completely right – a sheep emits more greenhouse gases than a Prius.

Trouble is, almost every car emits less greenhouse gas than a sheep.

Still, good advert.
