VW Jump Starts City Car's Appeal

Thu, 19 Dec 2013

VOLKSWAGEN has become the latest firm to launch a pure electric car in the UK. The firm is kicking off its campaign with an electric version of its already popular up! city car.

Priced at £19,250 including £5,000 Government grant or £24,250 without, the car is available to order now from one of 24 Volkswagen EV specialists across the UK. First deliveries are expected at the end of January.

In a bid to make the car as affordable as possible, VW’s finance plan allows the customer to choose a deposit of between £2,425 and £7,125, on top of the £5,000 government grant, which also forms part of the vehicle deposit.

On a 36 month, 10,000 mile a year plan, monthly payments can be £199. Should a customer discover that his or her lifestyle doesn’t suit an electric vehicle, after having made 12 monthly payments, they will have the option to hand the car back subject to the usual terms and conditions.

As well as a competitive finance offer, customers will also be offered an optional wall box charger for home garage use from British Gas, free of cost. This can recharge a completely flat battery in six hours.
