VW releases sketch of U.S.-made sedan

Volkswagen of America has released a sketch of its new mid-size sedan that will go on sale in the fall of 2011 as a 2012 model-year car.

The factory currently being built by VW in Chattanooga, Tenn., will start producing cars in the spring of 2011. Sales of the mid-size sedan will be at least 100,000 units annually at full capacity. The car is expected to start at about $20,000.

The sedan also will be exported, but it has been designed primarily for the U.S. market. It will have features such as additional cupholders, Bluetooth connections and other electronic options
