Vauxhall launches new extended used car warranty

Mon, 05 Nov 2012

Vauxhall has launched a new extended warranty for use cars, available for cars up to 70,000 miles for one, two or three years.

Two years ago, Vauxhall launched its Lifetime Warranty for new cars, spurred on by warranties from the likes of Kia and Hyundai, offering buyers long-term peace of mind – and which was actually a 100k mile warranty rather than a lifetime one, but a welcome assurance for motorists nonetheless.

Now Vauxhall are extending their enhanced warranty offer to use car with the launch of an extended warranty aimed to give owners of used Vauxhall’s a similar level of cover to new car buyers.

The new Vauxhall extended warranty is available for Vauxhall’s up to seven years old and which have covered less than 70k miles.

Offered as a one, two or three year warranty (and up to 100k mileage) the extended cover will cost you £259, £359 or £529 depending on the warranty period you choose. Which is actually pretty good value for money as it includes unlimited claims up to the value of your car.

Vauxhall are also throwing in a courtesy car if any repair takes more than a day and the cover is valid throughout Europe for 60 days a year. The warranty can also be transferred to any new owner for a £25 admin fee.

Let’s hope Vauxhall has done their maths properly, otherwise they’ll be stacking up even bigger losses for GM Europe.
