Volkswagen wants you to design a video game car in return for an internship

Wed, 07 May 2014

Volkswagen has launched a new design contest in order to find three students to undergo a six-month internship program at its Wolfsburg design center.

In order to prove your worth, you have to design a car that looks beyond the current paradigms of The Car. Think more about how personal mobility – and particularly autonomous cars – will look, feel and interact by creating a new scenario: "Video games have created their own unique medium, devoid of normal design barriers," reads the competition website. "This progressive approach should serve as your basis creating concepts for the competition. We are looking for new design interpretations which stress individual mobility, not uniformity."

This is your chance to experience the very sharp end of professional car design, working alongside the VW design team that includes judges Klaus Bischoff, VW's executive design director, head of exterior design Oliver Stefani, head of interiors Tomasz Bachorski and Oona Scheepers, Volkswagen's head of color and trim.

Check out the competition website for full details. Good luck!
