Vote: Guess this car review, episode 3

Fri, 06 Jun 2014

Last week, we brought you a few mystery car reviews and asked you to guess which vehicle was being reviewed. The response was great, and we want to say congrats to @jasoncashatt, @ericvanderiet, @timothyhowes1 and @ljpancakepantry who all guessed correctly. The three reviews were of the Lexus LS430, Jeep Liberty Renegade and the venerable PT Cruiser, all from 2005. We're going to travel back to 2003 this week, so put on your thinking caps.

Send your guesses to our @AWContest Twitter account; we'll pick a winner at random from all correct entries and give you answers (along with a new quiz) next week. We might even have some swag lying around to send to a randomly picked winner. Enjoy!

“Anyway, it's a great car. This is the second one I've driven, and it's as solid as a tank but moves like a dancer. It's a great expressway car. In black, it's somber looking and rather uninspired from the front, but the car has a nice profile.”

“It's a driver's car first and a luxury liner second. Not that it's not up to snuff on the appointments, but the ride is little harsher, the steering more immediate, the handling far more into the tossable range.”

“Great ride, handles well, and the interior is up to snuff, but I'm not sure what car you guys are looking at. It's like a 'Blues Brothers' throwback.”

Is it the BMW 7-series, Infiniti M45 or the Cadillac STS?

Review No. 2

“Good-looking minivan. Functional, with remote keyfob operation of both side doors, a real convenience to me when I stopped at the market last night and returned to the van with my hands full. This comes with a DVD player… a nice, family friendly feature.”

“This minivan felt as big and lumbering and cumbersome as nearly any big sport ute in memory. The acceleration is leisurely, there are the long braking distances, and you don't exactly throw it into corners. You sort of just turn the wheel and eventually she negotiates the turn.”

“There are plenty of places to put your stuff up front, and there looks to be plenty of room in the rear. Build quality seems good, but I agree with Roger; the center console is older than dirt. But man is this sucker uninspiring to drive. 'Sluggish' and 'sloppy' are a couple of words that come to mind.”

Is it the Ford Windstar, Chrysler Town and Country or Honda Odyssey?

Review No. 3

“Bolt some burly, buff fender flares on this sucker, along with monster rims and tires for a vehicle this size and it's looking pretty mean, at least as mean as a small truck can look. But that's also a pretty mean price.”

“Mike's right. It's fun to stand on it so you can listen to the blower's whine, and acceleration-wise, it's not bad. But I'm yet to come across any that is truly fun to drive, and, overall, this thing would grow tiresome to me.”

“I like this more understated but bold look. It still sports the fender bulges, but, this time in body color, so they're not so in-your-face. Overall, I think it's the sharpest truck look on the market right now.”

Is it the Ford F-150 Lightning, Nissan Frontier SVE, Chevy Silverado Z71?
