BMC STANDARD BIKE FILTER BMW K 1300 GT 2009-2012
The knowledge and experience gained on track is transferred to street
production in order to offer performance products, tested and in continuous
evolution, designed to satisfy the requirements of the most demanding
motorcyclists. The materials used in production are of the highest standard:
filters are made in one single piece with no welded joints thus avoiding
breakage; the filtering material is composed of a special cotton gauze soaked
with low viscosity oil and covered with an epoxy coated alloy mesh to ensure
protection from petrol fumes and oxidization due to air humidity. Furthermore
the cotton has the advantage of being washable and therefore reusable. In this
way BMC air filters guarantee superior air capacity in respect to traditional
paper filters enabling minimum loss of power in the air flow and therefore
obtaining better performance from the engine.
The panel / cylindrical air filter is commonly referred to as "replacement
air filter". It is installed in the vehicle's original airbox to replace the OEM
air filter. It is made of highly performing materials that allow an increased
air flow combined with a more efficient filtration, guaranteeing containment of
all impurities from as small as 7 microns (compared to OEM's 10 microns).
BMC air filters are produced using a "Full Moulding" system that enables the
characteristic red filter to be realized from a single mould with no welded
joints thus avoiding easy breakage. The rubber used in BMC air filtering systems
has a long life, is very durable and has optimum adhesion characteristics to all
shapes of airboxes.
BMC filters are made of a multi-layered cotton gauze soaked with low
viscosity oil covered with an epoxy coated alloy mesh to ensure protection from
petrol fumes and oxidization due to air humidity.
All BMC air filters are pre-oiled, and they can be washed and regenerated by
using the appropriate BMC regeneration kit.

Cadillac is recalling approximately 63,900 XTS sedans over an issue with the brake booster pump. The company believes that the brake booster pump can create positive pressure inside the wiring harness which is attached to the pump relay, and this pressure can dislodge a cavity plug in the relay and allow corrosive elements to enter the connector, creating a resistive short. Cadillac believes that this could lead to overheating and melting of plastic components, and may cause a fire in the engine compartment.

Latest news: what Magna's deal means for GM Europe
By Tim Pollard
Motor Industry

Canadian parts giant Magna this afternoon struck an agreement in principle to buy stricken GM's European arm, Opel and Vauxhall. The agreement has not yet been confirmed publicly and is still in the early phase, but brings to an end an uncomfortable round of talks in the past 48 hours which saw a spat between American negotiators and European politicians, and Fiat CEO Sergio Marchionne walking away from the table.Once sealed, the deal must first be approved by the German government, which is to provide interim funding to the new owners. However, Italian car maker Fiat isn't yet totally ruled out of the running, as Magna's chief exec earlier today intimated that he could be interested in cooperation.CAR Online will update with the latest developments as they happen.
