BRABUS reveals the world’s most powerful estate car!

Mon, 09 Dec 2013

German tuning firm BRABUS has revealed the new Mercedes E 63 AMG-based BRABUS 850 6.0 Biturbo estate… which (as suggested by its name), at 850hp, takes the title of world’s most powerful road-legal estate car. The monster Merc dutifully delivers some monster performance figures – indeed, the firm’s actually had to electronically restrict its top speed to 186mph in order to protect the tyres – it would otherwise shoot way, way beyond the 200mph mark. The potency of this estate car is truly eye-watering.

New hardcore Ferrari confirmed

Thu, 08 Mar 2007

By Phil McNamara Motor Industry 08 March 2007 09:01 A lighter, faster, more hardcore F430 is due this year, Ferrari boss Luca di Montezemolo hinted at the Geneva show. In 2005, Maranello unveiled the F430 Challenge, a racing version which competes in the Ferrari Challenge Trofeo series. Enthusiasts have been eagerly anticipating a roadgoing Challenge, and Di Montezemolo's off-the-cuff remarks at Ferrari's Geneva press conference suggests we won't be waiting much longer.

Mercedes-Benz, BMW both post record September sales

Wed, 09 Oct 2013

Not only are the German horsepower wars still going strong, but if this next bit of news isn't evidence of German sales wars, then we don't know what is. BMW sold 189,675 vehicles worldwide during the month of September, an increase of 6.7 percent over the previous year, which also made it the best September sales month for the automaker. This comes with a small asterisk -- namely, that figure includes Mini and Rolls-Royce sales, though if we're talking just BMW-badged vehicles, the September sales totaled 158,029 (still a 7.6 percent increase over September of 2012).
