The results of SAIC's Roewe-MG Cup design competition are in, with East China Normal University student Sun Jiajun taking top honors with his 850 Celebration concept. Themed ‘Roewe 2020: Elegant Confidence', the contest asked Chinese university students to design a future sedan, SUV or MPV for Roewe in 2020. Coming in second behind Jiajun were Qian Junlin and Zhang Mingxi, both of Jiang Nan University.

Faurecia has launched its ‘Faurecia Pin-spiration' contest, with a brand new 64GB iPad up for grabs. Tier supplier Faurecia is using online sharing community Pinterest to host a new competition to create a pinboard named ‘Faurecia Pin-spiration' – categorized under ‘Cars and Motorcycles' – and filled with things that reflect the meaning of ‘premium’ that could also be used in automotive design. LUXURY car maker Jaguar has released a teaser picture of its next new model, in advance of a full reveal later this year. Positioned below the firm's mid-size XF, the new XE is expected to do battle with the likes of BMW's 3 Series, Audi's A4 and Mercedes' C-Class. Industry experts are predicting a sub £30,000 entry price for the XE, which will be powered by a new range of Jaguar designed and built engines.
