Condition:New Brand:Ceika Manufacturer Part Number:Type 1M Coilover Kit

CEIKA Type 1M bolt-on coilover kit for BMW E64 M6

Purchased new with the intention to install.  I wanted a more sporty adjustable suspension with ride height adjustment to lower the car.  Lost interest when I purchased another toy.  Never got around to installing them.  These units are not stock.  They are valved and sprung for sport-street driving and the weight of E63 / M6.  This was all additional cost.  I paid $1590 plus waited almost 4 weeks to manufacture and ship.

What you get:
  • Complete set of 4 High Performance Coilovers (front and rear setup).  Units are direct bold-on.
Springs and Valving:
  • 8kg front and 6kg rear
  • Valving for fast road/lowering
Options Installed on these Coilovers:
  • Front camber plates ($60)
  • Rear pillow ball mount ($60)
  • Inverted dampers ($240)
  • Helper springs ($100)
      Total Options: $460

Features (from the manufacturer):
  • 1-way adjustable dampers: ~800N with 33 clicks
  • Mono tube shocks
  • Springs preload adjustment
  • Base adjustable height with fully threaded shock bodies
  • Fully rebuildable and serviceable. All the serviceable parts are in stock and ready to send.

Street valving:
Medium increase in stiffness over stock, with linear springs for good control and handling. The street type retains good comfort and firm ride for good handling and no body roll.

The fast response of our dampers insure good stability at high speed on straights and cornering. It is also useful to avoid bottoming out and scraping when lowering your car while keeping it driveable. The base adjustable height mounts allow to lower the ride without compromising the damper travel.

Keep in mind that even on the street type the ride will feel different and stiffer at low speed due to the fact that the spring rates are linear. On OEM springs or lowered springs the progressive rate is soft at the top of the spring which gives more comfort at low speed but makes the handling less predictable and causes more body roll.

If you want to dial out a bit of this common effect due to coilover, the helper springs will give you added softness at the top and more comfort on bumpy roads.

Shipping
Box / packaging with all 4 coilovers is 53 lbs. You are welcome to arrange your own shipping or I can send them out FedEx ground.

New Audi Q7 (2013) to shed weight. But no Audi Q9 planned.

Fri, 12 Aug 2011

The 2013 Audi Q7 will be much lighter than the current Q7 The Audi Q7 was rather late to the SUV party of the noughties, not hitting the road until 2005. That meant the Q7 had a bit of an edge when it launched, as it was newer than its competition, but it also means the Q7 is still soldiering on when its competition has already launched newer, shinier models. But Audi are working on fixing that, and fixing the biggest criticism of the Q7 in the process – its sheer weight and size.
