Boom Mat’s new Under Hood Thermal Acoustic Lining was designed primarily for automotive engine compartments as a way to greatly reduce heat and noise with a simple and easy peel and stick application.  Extreme engine heat and noise often is a problem with today’s modified vehicles packed with high performance components.

Made of ¾” thick, high quality, marine grade acoustical foam with a fiberglass reinforced reflective aluminum skin while the 5 mil acrylic adhesive provides a permanent bond. Under Hood Thermal Acoustic Lining not only insulates the underside of the hood for sound deadening and thermal control, it also protects the vehicle's paint finish. Under Hood Thermal Acoustic Lining can also be used as noise control applications such as on generator boxes and many industrial uses including HVAC applications.

Use as a heat and noise barrier to control under hood temperatures.

Funding sought to restore WWI lorry

AN APPEAL has gone out for funding to complete the restoration of a three-ton lorry used in the First World War which is the last of its kind left. The Coventry-built Maudslay vehicle was one of more than 1,700 Maudslays that saw service in the Great War. Coventry Motor Museum which purchased the vehicle 14 years ago now needs to raise £5,000 to put the finishing touches to the restoration in time for the 100th anniversary of the outbreak of the First World War this summer.

Motorists still not switched on to electric cars

Renault A new survey of 3,000 British motorists suggests there is still a long way to go before electric cars become a serious purchasing choice for the majority, with many saying the government isn’t doing enough to promote them. According to the latest Auto Trader Owner’s Guide, only 1% of UK drivers own what it calls an Alternative Fuel Vehicle (AFV). The poll also illustrates some significant age and gender divides, and shows that price continues to be a serious hindrance to more environmentally friendly motoring.

Toyota to recall 1.1 million Corolla, Matrix models prone to stalling

Toyota Motor Corp. today issued a recall of 1.1 million Corolla and Corolla Matrix vehicles from the 2005-08 model years after more than 1,000 complaints of stalling. In a statement, Toyota said it was addressing some engine control modules that may have been improperly made.
