Mercedes CLC tease
Wed, 09 Jan 2008By First Official Pictures 09 January 2008 11:19 Looking squat, mean and aggressive (the car, not the model), this is the new Mercedes CLC. And although the CLC is based on the current C-class-derived Sports Coupe, Merc hopes that the 1100 new or revised components will make the car a serious challenger to the BMW 1-series coupe. It certainly looks slicker than the current car, and with C-class inspired styling it looks smarter than today's stumpy model.
Why Ford’s Euro design is changing: Joel Piaskowski replaces Martin Smith
Wed, 28 May 2014By Tim Pollard Motor Industry 28 May 2014 14:30 Ford today confirmed that it is shaking up its European design team, as it appoints Joel Piaskowski to replace the retiring Martin Smith. Smith, 64, has led Ford of Europe’s design team for a decade and is the father of the brand’s edgy ‘kinetic design’, but will step down on 1 July 2014, it was announced this afternoon. Before he retires fully at the end of the year Smith will work with the Blue Oval’s vice president of design, Moray Callum, on a global project looking at the future of Ford design.
What the 2015 Corvette ZR1 could look like
Wed, 20 Feb 2013Buyers are lining up to put the new 2014 Chevrolet Corvette in their garages, but we're already looking ahead to the hopped-up versions Chevrolet is likely to unveil down the road. There will be a new Z06, of course, but we're talking about the Stingray version of the beastly, supercharged Corvette ZR1. Thanks to a pair of renderings, we can imagine what the new ZR1, which will likely be a 2015 or 2016 model year vehicle, might look like.
