Royal Mail gives prize of a lifetime

A CLASSIC CAR fan received the special delivery of a lifetime when the Royal Mail posted him a Jaguar E-type.Kevin Matthews, 43, was selected to receive the classic sports car through the post as the winner of a competition run by the Royal Mail to celebrate its British Auto Legends stamp collection. Mr Matthews said: ‘I just can't believe it. It's like Christmas has come early, I am so overwhelmed.’ Royal Mail issued its British Auto Legends Special Stamps to celebrate some of the most stylish British motor vehicles that are revered throughout the world.

Watch our brief video guide to the 2010 North American International Auto Show, aka the Detroit motor show. While writing our show reports from the NAIAS, we shot some quickfire video footage of the key cars, grabbed an interview or two and arranged a debrief with Gavin Green, Tim Pollard and Jonny Smith to reflect on their personal interpretations of the show. Ruiqi G2

The Ruiqi G2 – an A-segment model from Chery's new sub-brand – will enter the Chinese market in July, competing with the BAIC E Series and Great Wall Tengyi C20. Designed by Pininfarina, the Ruiqi G2's most distinctive feature is a wave-shaped feature line that wraps up from the rocker, creates an exaggerated rear fender and wraps around the rear to for the rear bumper, the intention of which is to "convey a sense of agility and movement." Chrome highlights on the front grille and tailgate attempt to add a premium touch to the G2 as is the winged, Bentley-inspired badge. The interior architecture is entirely conventional with silver and black trim, while the integrated center panel features a hexagonal HVAC control unit.
