Umea Institute of Design prepares for annual Degree Exhibition

The Institute of Design is housed in a converted power station and purpose-built premises on the banks of the Umea River. The school has an atmosphere that is open and light, and all students have their own personal workspace within this environment. There are well-equipped workshops for woodwork, metal, plastic, clay modelling, assembly and painting.

You can’t have failed to notice that the 2012 Ford Kuga is just round the corner – and due to debut at Geneva in March – and we’ve already seen most of what the new Kuga has to offer with the debut of the new Ford Escape at Los Angeles last November. But despite the world readying itself to put in an order for a new Kuga, our Antipodean cousins are only now getting the chance to buy a Kuga, but its not the all new Ford Kuga, rather the Kuga we’ve had for the last four years.

Renault replaces Scenic with Renault Scenic XMOD Crossover

The Renault Scenic is no more, to be replaced by a rufty-tufty crossover with a raised ride height called the Renault Scenic XMOD. But Renault think they have the answer to the problem and are following the lead of partner Nissan – who junked their mainstream cars and replaced them with crossovers (step forward the Qashqai and Juke) – by dumping the Scenic and replacing it with the Scenic XMOD. The Renault Scenic XMOD isn’t a new car, but the Scenic with a facelift, raised ride height, butch bolt on bits and a nod to 4WD with a new Grip Xtend Traction control system.
