OK, all you Z-28/Camaro guys: we have for Sale/Auction a Transistorized Ignition Distributor, correct for 1967, 1968 Z-28 Camaros (and possibly other GM models), optioned with K66 Transistorized Ignition, an OEM restored #1111267, dated 7 J 19 (September 19, 1967), or 8 J 24 (September 24, 1968), or what appears to be an NOS (no original box) unit dated 3 K 21 (October 21, 1973-Service Replacement).  These were mechanical tach drive units-just like the Corvettes used; even though, the Camaro did not use a mechanical tach.   There was a cap that was originally screwed onto the tach coupler on the Camaros-I have only one cap available and is available at an additional cost.   Please Note:  pictures may or may not be of current inventory, but are of the same P/N unit.

How hard and expensive is it to find one of these ultra rare Z-28 TI distributors?, near impossible, and never with a guarantee!  These are original distributors that appeared to have had little use or is new in the case of the NOS unit.  I did pull the used one apart to inspect and verified all parts look like new.
It retains it's original housing w/o the drill hole that started about March 1970 and original ID Band.  It also has the original very rare #400 vac canister (only used on this application to my knowledge).  I did cosmetically restore it and changed out the dried lube, seal and felt-which will insure trouble-free use for many years to come.  The Coil P/U (w/correct "green" stripe) looks new, as does the rest of the unit--The result is a unit that has been meticulously preserved and prepped for usage and/or judging, etc.  Best of all:  because I have inspected and installed new lube, it will work as GM intended-guaranteed!  I guarantee all of my parts, if I have inspected or restored them for one year-no restrictions.  I test all my restored distributors on my Sun Distributor machine to insure factory specs-you get the test sheet-custom curving is available upon request.

This P/N was also used (one of 4 P/N's recommended) in the many Dealer installed conversion kits to convert from conventional point ignition to the superior TI-see my other listing for kits.  If your Camaro did not come with TI or is now missing the parts, but you would like TI in your Camaro:  My kits are just like GM offered in the late 60's-mid 70's with correct parts:  distributor, Amp, Coil, harness, amp mounting bracket/fasteners and even the rare harness clip @ the rad support-everything you need to install the system.

I have been rebuilding/restoring Distributors and Amps for several years, and they now comprise a specialty of my Corvette restoration business.  I incorporate the highest quality and detail to my restorations.  I am a National Corvette Restorers Society (NCRS) Master Judge, and I have campaigned several cars at the National level, so I know what the judges and discriminating owners are looking for.  Corvette judging is much more anal than the Camaro guys, so the detail on this piece will blow them away.

I also have other Corvette, Camaro, Chevelle, Nova, and full passenger original BB TI units and original Small Block TI units, even for FI w/TI (call for availability and pricing) and also GTO units

If you need a TI Amp to complete your system; I have restored OEM and NOS Amps available on an exchange  or outright (no core) basis, as well as the latest/best reproduction amp--see my other listings.  I also have TI Coils available, (Delco licensed reproductions, with correctly embossed part numbers-excellent quality and they work-see my other listing).  Discounts on distributors with the multi-purchase of an amp and/or coil-the more you buy, the more you save

I guarantee all my restored Distributors and Amps for one year, no questions asked or mileage restrictions.  The units have been tested on "the bench" and all amps are also tested on a running car (only true test), so there should be no question knowing they work when you receive them.  So, if you have the wiring correct--they will work-- guaranteed!  Make sure you have a good ground and the harness is properly wired per the GM shop manual (many times TI systems fail and have been abandoned to run a point system and the wiring converted and coil changed out, which are quite different-remember, TI does not use a ballast resistor).

I buy cores of TI amps and TI distributors
, so will do trades to get you a working system with reduced dollar expenditure, if you have extra parts.  Ask questions or call 505-717-1140. We are your One Stop Source for GM Transistor Ignition Systems!

The Lamborghini LP620 YarroW by Wheelsandmore The Lamborghini LP560-4 is a very good car. Not as barking mad as we like our Lambos – you can thank Audi for that – but a damn fine car nonetheless. Its stunning V10 makes one of the best noises on the planet and – unlike most chop-tops – the Spyder is as good as the coupe.
