Volvo von Koenigsegg – the Vox Volvo P1800
Wed, 06 May 2009The Vox Volvo P1800 - a modern reworking of the original with a 550bhp V8 Vöcks latest creation – The Vox Volvo P1800 -is based on the iconic Volvo P1800, which those of a certain age will remember was driven by Roger Moore’s Saint back in the ’60s. In its day the P1800 was something of a revelation – a sporty, appealing Volvo (come to think of it, it’s still a bit of a revelation!). Vöcks has remained faithful to the original P1800, at least in style.
The Detroit motor show 2010 review, by Gavin Green
Tue, 12 Jan 2010Motown may not have rediscovered its mojo but at least the car makers formerly known as the Big Three have regained a little bit of their old swagger since the misery of last year’s Detroit show. The survivor, Ford, unsurprisingly looked the most confident at this year’s show, never mind that its star car was about as hometown as Bauhaus and bratwurst.
IFR Aspid
Mon, 28 Jul 2008The Aspid is a new sports car from a new car company that has just made its international debut at the British Motor Show. The UK is the biggest single European market for small sports cars, and the Aspid also has British genes in its typology that clearly stems from the Lotus Super Seven. Technical highlights of the car include an extruded aluminum chassis weighing a mere 75kg clothed in carbon fiber, a two-liter supercharged engine with 400PS, an overall weight of 700kg, and headline performance figures of 0-100mph in 5.9 seconds.
