Jaguar to build R8 rival
Thu, 15 Jan 2009[ad#ad-1] Jaguar has its problems, there is no doubt. Tata is struggling financially with its recently acquired Jaguar / Land Rover set-up, but then virtually every car maker has major problems at the moment. And yes, it has just laid off 450 staff, although this seems to be more about management rationalisation than shedding pure manufacturing jobs.

Tue, 23 Aug 2011The biannual Internationale Automobil-Ausstellung, or the Frankfurt motor show, is again due to take place this September, swapping places with its sister show in Paris. One of the world's largest motor shows – certainly physically – the IAA is held at Frankfurt's Messe complex, and in recent years has been themed, with the last event in 2009 carrying the theme of ‘electrification', with virtually every manufacturer revealing a vehicle using the latest battery technology. Fittingly, the most notable unveil at that show was the BMW Vision Efficient Dynamics Concept, which was easily the most innovative and original car of 2009.

Painted matt black, and with ‘dontblogaboutthis’ emblazoned across its flanks, it is of course a tease designed to get forums fanatics and bloggers worked up into a frenzy as everyone tries to guess what it is.
