And if – as many believe – CO2 is the enemy of the planet, then all that sensibleness oozing from every pore of the Auris Hybrid will be wonderfully appealing, especially as there is very little compromise needed to accommodate all that Hybrid Green-ness.

Of course, even BMW aren’t bold enough to make a production MINI – even one with Rolls Royce fairy dust sprinkled on at Goodwood – cost so much. But they’ve come damn close.

One of the reassuring things about the, uh, extraordinary Lamborghini Veneno that debuted at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show was that Lamborghini would only build three of them. So the chances of it actually poking your eye out were really rather slim. Now though, Lamborghini has confirmed it will also build the even more astonishing Veneno Roadster pictured above.
