All 2-speed models have drive shaft arrangement that allows both high & low speed cranking from one side. Load matched gear ratios for easier cranking, hunting tooth gear system for more even wear, longer life. All ratchet winches will freewheel when ratchet is disengaged. Reinforced arc-welded reels, embossed, reinforced bases; high carbon steel gears. "S" models (DL1100S) have 2" winch straps included. Cable clamp standard on 2-speed, heavy-duty models (cable not included). Heavy-duty steel handles have molded grips (quick attach handle standard on 2-speed models). Permanently lubricated bearings on all drive shafts. All models equipped w/slots in reel for easy installation of winch straps. Powder-coated metallic copper bronze or zinc with Tuffplate.
