428 CJ Engine Block - Bare - This is a beautiful fully checked out bare engine block for a 428 CJ or 428 SCJ Ford engine. This came from a Shelby GT500 that the owner went full restomod. Has the proper C scratch on the back and dated 8J20 September 20 68 . We gave it to the most anal machinist we know and he put it through the full process. Remove the plugs and cam bearings, hot tank clean, oven bake to get all the passages cleaned out. steebrate with stainless shot at low pressure. Sonoflux for cracks. Check align bore on mains. Square deck to crank. Bore to nearest oversize using steel torque plate. Honed using 280 grit stone for moly rings. Hot tanked again, washed , oiled and bagged. Specs Deck Height 10.145 Date Code 8J20 , 4.190 Bore . Blocks machined like this run cooler and smooth . Shipping will have to be truck, we will band to a pallet for US shipping or we can ship out of country but will have to buiild a crate. We also have a dated pair of bare 428 CJ heads that we are listing we could sell as well.
