During WWII light airplanes were used on the front lines for artillery spotting and other services. They were designated as Laiazon
airplanes and flown by army soldiers. These airplanes were built by Piper, Taylorcraft, Aeronca, and other light plane manufacturers. Today many of these airplanes still exist and are being restored to original condition. One of the restoration challenges is finding original equipment for the restoration. Most of these airplanes were equipped with equipment with radios made by RCA. The RCA AVT-112A transmitter was often the choice for the transmitter. Finding one in good condition is difficult. This one is a rare find since it still has it's original box and unused power cable. I bought this about 30 years ago and stored it in my hangar. I am not using it in my restoration so have put it up for auction.
NOTE: This radio is being sold for display purposes only. It does not work on current aircraft frequencies and attempting to apply power to a radio of this age would be unwise.
