New British sports car brand on the horizon
Mon, 20 Jan 2014A REAL automotive rarity has occurred with the announcement that a new low-volume British sports car brand will reveal an initial concept car in April. David Brown Automotive will be set up along the same lines as Morgan, with the aim of recapturing the past glory of British sports cars but using modern materials, reliable mechanicals and up-to-date luxuries. Such ventures have been tried before, with very mixed results, but owner and financial backer David Brown is confident that the first model, codenamed ‘Project Judi’, will succeed.
2013 Nissan Juke priced at $19,990
Wed, 26 Sep 2012Nissan announced pricing for the 2013 Juke crossover on Wednesday. The base Juke S with a CVT will come in at $19,990, not including destination, while the all-wheel drive Juke SL starts at $26,650. The body remains the same for 2013, but the car's looks can be enhanced with a Midnight Edition package, which features 17-inch black wheels, a black roof spoiler and black rearview mirror caps.
Ford agrees to sell Aston Martin
Wed, 14 Mar 2007Ford Motor Company announced this week it has entered into a definitive agreement to sell Aston Martin, its prestigious UK sports car business. The new owner of Aston Martin is a consortium comprised of: David Richards, founder and chairman of Prodrive, a world-leading motorsport and automotive technology company; John Sinders, an avid Aston Martin collector and a backer of Aston Martin Racing; and Investment Dar and Adeem Investment Co, international investment companies headquartered in Kuwait. The sale is expected to close during the second quarter and the transaction values Aston Martin at GBP 479 million ($925 million). As part of the transaction, Ford will retain a GBP 40 million ($77 million) investment in Aston Martin.
