Happiness is a Jaguar XJ6 Coupé, says Michael J. Scott
Thu, 01 Jul 2010My first Jaguar experience was with the purchase of an XJ6 Coupe which I bought because I thought it was very elegant. The 4.2 straight six never failed to impress in the way the car just disappeared over the horizon in plush silence (apart from some wind noise from the door seals) and I loved the drama of opening two petrol caps and pumping in fuel from both sides of the car. After long fast drives to southern Germany I always arrived as fresh as when I started out. The car attracted admiring interest from everyone including little old ladies!
Range Rover Evoque Sport to get new 3.0L V6 Supercharged
Fri, 29 Jun 2012Reports suggest that Land Rover will bolt the new Jaguar 3.0L V6 Supercharged in the Evoque to create the Range Rover Evoque Sport. We’ve been mulling the probability of a Range Rover Evoque Sport since last year when we asked whether the inevitable Sport version of the Evoque would come with a turned-up Ecoboost lump or whether it would get the new Supercharged V6 Jaguar are putting in their cars. Last month we looked at the Evoque Sport again after it was revealed that Land Rover Design Director Gerry McGovern has been driving round in an Evoque with an EcoBoost engine running at around 300bhp, suggesting the Ecoboost was perhaps the favoured option.
Stig test drives motorway pub
Wed, 22 Jan 2014The BBC has released a video of the Stig test driving Britain’s first motorway pub, presumably as a way of promoting its new series of Top Gear. The video shows the Stig pull up at Beaconsfield services in a Vauxhall Insignia, before entering the Hope and Champion pub and posing for photos, and then ordering a pint of beer. On Bing: see pictures of the Stig England’s first motorway pub set to open However, as the Stig raises the pint to his mouth, he realises it’s not drinkable as he is still wearing his helmet.
