Michelin Challenge Design - Deadline for entries April 16

You Can Design America's Next Iconic Vehicle Michelin Challenge Design - the global transportation design competition in its ninth year - is looking for America's next iconic vehicle.  Submissions for the 2009 program will be accepted through April 16, 2008. The winning designs will be evaluated for their uniqueness, emotional appeal, design courage and technical execution by a jury of automotive design professionals and receive prominent display in the MCD exhibit at the 2009 North American International Auto Show. New Mercedes A Class to spawn electric version made by Tesla

New Mercedes A Class EV on the way via Tesla It would appear that Mercedes-Benz are planning an electric version of the new Mercedes A Class with a powertrain by Tesla. The new Mercedes A Class arrived at the Geneva Motor Show in March as the Mercedes answer to the BMW 1 Series, and a very convincing new A Class it looks too. From an entry-level A Class which will get a Renault 1.5 litre dCi lump to deliver a sub-99g/km model all the way up (eventually) to a 4WD, 300bhp AMG A Class, it looks like the new A Class will cover the bases for every buyer, and then some.

Porsche seeks oldest models in America

Does an AutoWeek reader own one of the oldest Porsches in America? We hope so, and Porsche has thrown open a Web site registry at www.porsche60years.com to find out. Called My Classic Porsche Search, the program is intended to find and document the oldest of the brand's models in the United States as part of the company's celebration of its 60th anniversary in the United States.
