CRANKCASE REMOVED FROM MY 1980 CB900C CUSTOM
Condition as shown. No cracks, breaks or repairs. Cylinder head mounting studs are intact. Threads are all good. Crankshaft main journal bearings are still intact (no evidence of burning (bluish tint), flaking, abrasion, or scoring), but you may have to resize them for your engine rebuild. Engine was running but had low compression on cylinders 1 and 4 due to bad valves and rings before I decided to part the bike out.
From what I’ve seen on line, this was only used on the 1980 and 1981CB900C Custom. May fit other years and models (like the 1982 CB900C and 1983 CB1000C, since they use the same crankshaft and other components, but had a black crankcase set)…...But please do your own research, compare carefully, ask questions, and/or verify with your dealer, mechanic or other reliable source before purchasing.
See any incorrect information? Please let me know!
Last summer I parted out my 1980 Honda CB900 Custom, which I had owned since 1982. About all that is left are the engine and transmission components, and some miscellaneous parts (foot pegs, wiring harnesses, levers, clamps, brackets, relays, etc.). All of the higher demand parts (gas tank, side covers, exhaust, gages, headlamp, fenders, chrome trim, controls, handlebars, charging system, ignition system, air shocks, brakes, oil pump, starter) have been sold off. However, if there is a specific part you are looking for feel free to ask about it using the “Ask a question” link.
Please don't bid if you want these parts to be new, because they aren’t. But I did take very good care of this bike. The bike was never in an accident. Many of the parts are as good as you’ll be able to find; all of the parts will be good enough to get your bike on the road again. Every part will have something wrong as they are used (and 33 years old). If it's bad, I try to mention it, but I don’t list every scuff, dimple, scratch, pit, or rust spot. Please do look at my feedback on parts from this bike which have been sold.
Shipping cost is based on actual package weight, size, and zip code (unless using USPS Flat Rate boxes) and generally only includes a “handling” charge if I have to purchase shipping materials (to cover the cost); mostly I use recycled shipping materials and try to ship the most economical method. I will combine shipping, but doing so may delay shipping a day or two as I will need to repackage your items.
· I do my best to accurately and honestly describe all items, but since this is a used item and I have no control over its installation or usage, it is sold “As-Is”.
· If there is a problem with your item, please let me know before leaving neutral or negative feedback, as I would like the opportunity to make it right. I try to always leave feedback after you are satisfied.
· Local pick up is welcome. Please contact me for payment options for local pick up.

Buy a hydrogen-powered car in 2015…at least in California
Wed, 08 Jan 2014At the Consumers Electronics Show this week Toyota claimed that a production version of its four-door midsize FCV concept fuel cell sedan will hit showrooms some time in 2015. Toyota has been investing in fuel-cell technology for the past 20 years, and since 2002 it has been testing and developing prototypes primarily in North America. Toyota claims that it has reduced the cost of producing a fuel-cell powertrain, and has estimated a 95 percent cost reduction in the powertrain and fuel tanks for the 2015 production model versus the 2002 prototype.
McLaren P1 to make its driving debut at 2013 Goodwood Festival of Speed
Fri, 22 Mar 2013The new McLaren P1 supercar is heading for the 2013 Goodwood Festival of Speed to make its driving debut in the Supercar run. We’ve also had McLaren F1 new boy Sergio Perez driving the P1 round the Top Gear Dunsfold track and Ron Dennis telling us he got round the Top Gear track in the P1 a good 10 seconds quicker than any other road car ever has. But now we’re actually going to see the McLaren P1 driven in anger.
