Audi is pulling weight out of its A8 limousine and sticking in more power in an effort to stem the expected upsurge from Mercedes-Benz’s all-new S-Class, also being unveiled for the first time at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show. The all-wheel drive Audi, which is the top-of-the-range Audi limo, may only change a little visually but delivers big upgrades in its driver assistance systems, as well as tightening its fuel consumption by up to 10%. Robert Kidder, former Duracell chief, to head new Chrysler as chairman

Business consultant Robert Kidder is set to become the new chairman of Chrysler Group when it emerges from bankruptcy. Kidder, 64, will replace Bob Nardelli, who was hired in 2007 after Daimler sold Chrysler to private equity group Cerberus. A new board of directors, to be formed after bankruptcy, will hire a new CEO for Chrysler.

Bentley Mulsanne convertible concept debuts

Bentley will expand the Mulsanne lineup with a glitzy convertible version, previewed by a concept that debuted at Pebble Beach. The British droptop would likely share mechanical pieces with the coupe, meaning a twin-turbo 6.75-liter V8 making 505 hp and 752 lb-ft of torque paired with an eight-speed automatic and rear-wheel chassis. Technical specifications were not confirmed.
